Banked Embers is a small studio. We build software that helps people understand each other, without a feed, a follower count, or an algorithm that rewards heat.
Our work
Subtext reads a message thread and shows you what is going on underneath it: the push and pull, who is owning what, and where things tend to go sideways. It works for any relationship that matters, and your conversations are never stored on our servers. A reading, not a verdict.
Most of us badly misjudge what the other side actually believes. Assumptions closes that gap: predict how people on the other side see an issue, then find out how close you were. Your accuracy score is the point, not winning the argument.
How we work
Neither app has a public feed, a follower count, or a ranking that rewards the loudest take. You are not building an audience. You are working something out.
Software that reads people gets things wrong. Both apps say so plainly, on the screen, next to the thing they are telling you. We would rather be trusted than sound certain.
One person builds these. That means fewer releases than a funded team would ship, and a real answer from a real person when you write in.
